We are 2 girls and this was the best tour by far we did in Vietnam. Our guide Linh was lovely, he picked us up in our hotel in Ho Chi Minh, we drove to Can Tho, had breakfast on a boat in the floating market, drove to a fabric and saw how noodles and cacao are made and did a very nice trip on a bike. It wasn’t cheap, but it really worth to pay the difference. Thanks for the experience 🙂
The trip is best option for any visitors who want to do understand more about Mekong Delta real rural life by cruising on rivers and cycling on lands. Make sure your camera battery is full charged to not miss out all the beautiful images of a great day out. The travel distance from Saigon down to Can Tho city, known as the heart of Mekong Delta, is around 180km, which takes you almost 3 and half an hours to reach there.
Upon arrival at around 7:30 am, we start the river trip for visiting Cai Rang floating market by small wooden boat. Join the hustle and bustle of the crowd where local traders are so busy in selling and buying commodities. Enjoy Vietnamese coffee purchasing from a coffee boat to experience the feeling of locals here. Have breakfast with typical noodle soup right on your boat, amazing! Leaving the market, we visit a noodle making workshop where you get to know step by step how our local experts make fresh noodle in traditional way. You also can try your hand in making it and enjoy its delicious specialty Noodle Pizza. Continuously, our boat makes its way to navigate through stunning Mekong channels, with various plants growing along the way, really ideal way for relaxing moment. Walk on country path, we then make a nice stop at cacao garden to see the art of making fresh chocolate and other amazing products in traditional way and, the most special thing, no chemical at all. Let’s enjoy the best Mekong chocolate milk here.
On the two wheels, we will enter into every corners, in deep countryside of South Vietnam; cycle through little village, cross river on local ferry; visit the giant Ficus Microcarpa tree, enjoy nice Vietnamese coffee at local hammock coffee shop; have lunch with delicious Mekong local dishes at a lovely fruit orchard.
Minivan and driver transport you back to Sai Gon. You probably arrive at around 6:00 pm depending on traffic condition.
