At the pier in Can Tho city, board the small wooden boat then an amazing view quickly comes to your eyes with the hustle and bustle at the biggest Cai Rang floating market in Vietnam; immerse yourselves in the daily trading activities of local traders on river by cleverly weaving our boat into the crowd of big boats and some small boats. Enjoy Vietnamese coffee and fresh fruit purchasing from fantastic local floating restaurants selling food & drink necessities everyday around market.
Visit a noodle making base to get a deep understanding about how hard the typical Mekong noodles are made in traditional way with all enthusiasm of local workers. You have a chance to taste its specialty known as Noodle Pizza right here. Mekong Delta is famed for its interlacing canal system; hence, it is a should-not-missed part of your journey to do sailing along those narrow water ways for catching up local life styles in this region. Take a walk for about 30 minutes on the country road leading cacao garden. You get an amazing time to explore how local farmer process natural products including fresh chocolate, fresh wine, cacao powder, etc. from cacao fruit in an organic system. Refresh yourselves by enjoying hot (or ice) chocolate milk while learning more about the stories of this garden. Minivan is ready then to bring you to the rice vermicelli making base where you get to know one more fantastic noodle types processed in traditional way. After lunch, we head straight to Hau Giang province on country roads with beautiful stretching rice fields (in its season) along the way. After a good rest, you can explore the beautiful area around the homestay with optional choice including: 1. you can do the fantastic kayaking activity along the little canals 2. you can do bicycle trip on the country roads along the riverside for exploring may kinds of fruits and plans with their great uses. Stop along the way for having local drink and snack purchasing from street vendors. You may also catch up simple but lovely images of students come home from school on bicycle on foot or bicycles if it is in school day. Get back to the home stay, join the cooking activity to learn how to cook typical food of Mekong then have a warm dinner together then take a good rest to be ready for you trip next morning.
Breakfast before early departure for visiting Nga Nam floating market. Arrive at the market after one hour drive. An amazing colorful image of market comes to your eyes right after boarding the local sampan boat. Unlike the big Cai Rang floating market with many big boats, Nga Nam deserves a visit owing to its authentic atmosphere as there are mostly small boats gathering together for trading local commodities. In addition, you definitely get the unique feeling when enjoying your time at the market as there is very less tourists around (even no tourist depending on the day). Travel to the land of forest and wild bird sanctuary. Upon arrival, surprisingly enjoy the rural landscape; take the boat trip cruising on the long narrow channels. The place shows its charming beauty with a lively green color of plants, the featured color of water bringing itself alluvium to enrich our homeland. Hundreds of bird live here which are easily to be seen in early morning or late afternoon. Experience time on a lovely tiny electric car going through the jungle area, fantastic!
Depart for the famous beautiful Xeo Quyt forest, belonging to Dong Thap province. The drive lasts about 3 hours. Have lunch with great typical dishes of Mekong Delta at local restaurant in the forest. Xeo Quyt forest is known as an incredible river tunnels which is the basement among residential place in Vietnam war from 1960 to 1975 and was recognized as the Historiacal Monument is 1992. Visiting this area, you have a chance to experience excited moments on the sampan boat weaving into wild narrow canals hidden under layers of green and yellow climbing plants. Lets imagine how wonderful it is to explore the river tunnels with a system of bomb shelters, fighting tunnels restored on the basic of ancient traces along with the remaining kitchen, meeting rooms, bomb holes over there.
